My christmas card for this year. Every year I paint/draw a card for my family, and we take it to kinkos and make em into custom cards and such. This is this year's. I totally had to rush on it, since I don't have paints at school, so I had to do it in 2-3 days over Thanksgiving break. Which is why it looks kinda rushed. Oy. I haven't used paints in over 6 months. e_e;

BTW, this is pretty damn tiny IRL. Hence the lack of detail.

Tempera paints on toned 8"x5.5" pastel paper. Clocked at 10-12 hours.

Eesh. And you complain about not being able to do backgrounds. You can obviously paint them. I can't believe you did all that in ten hours. ;; Loser.
And the contrast is really cool, between the horses and the background. I love how you use the tealness an' all that. It's so comforting.

Beautiful, awesome job on the BG, beautiful coloring on the horses!! This would make an excellent christmas card :D

Traditional painting can be so difficult. You did a great job with the detail - especially all the work you put into the background!
