This is considered an elaborate character sheet, costing about $16-25 based on complexity and final quality.

Black is a very difficult colour for me to do because of my screen--I have a very bright, high-contrast moniter, so I automatically have to assume that a lot of the details on black subjects that I can see perfectly well on my screen will be lost on others.

I just hope this doesn't turn into a black blob for other people, because I really like how the lighting on this came out. The commissioner asked for both warm and cool highlights, creating a "multifaceted" appearance, and this is somewhat difficult to achieve with my colouring style, so it was an enjoyable challenge. XD

I also really like the idea behind this character. Ahote, meaning "restless one" in Hopi, was described as being a centuries-old wolf whose soul is chained to the wind, causing him to suffer a constantly nomadic and difficult life.

Adobe Photoshop CS1. 6-7 hours.

I really like the head shot, Nylak. He's so pretty. ;; I think the highlights came out nice. ... And it's good for you to have a challenge every now and then. X3

My monitor is probably 10 years old, so I don't know how many details I'm missing, but I really like the fur texture on the back.

Great layout, by the way. It's very lonely. :)

I know what you mean about shading black (white is a pain for me as well since my monitor doesn't pick up those extra-light grey tones), but you've done a wonderful job here.

The pose looks nice and steady and the shines/shadows are placed very well. ^_^

The purple highlights add a great touch! I like how its fur is so dense and long!
